This next concert, entitled "Sophisticated Ladies," is no exception! Joining The Pops' are Tony Award nominee Montego Glover, Broadway's Capathia Jenkins, & singer/actress Sy Smith. "Sophisticated Ladies," takes place Friday November 13 at 8pm at Carnegie Hall, commemorates the centennial year of the birth of Billie Holiday and celebrates other groundbreaking icons of American popular song, from Ella Fitzgerald to Sarah Vaughan to Dinah Washington.
Call Answered: When I was presented with the opportunity to interview anyone in "From The Hip," I decided to go with the show's leads, Susie Mosher and Maggie Moore as I felt I could have the most fun with them. And, boy, did we have FUN! Plus, anything with Susie Mosher is worth seeing! "From The Hip," is a musical comedy about conjoined twins with big dreams. Call Answered: I love to make people laugh and put a smile on their face. I also enjoy someone who can make me laugh out loud. When Australian comedian Joel Creasey was presented to me, I took a gander at his work. What I found was a bright, young, fresh comedian, who made me laugh out loud! I'm so excited to have had the chance to interview Joel about his start in comedy and upcoming show "The Hurricane" at the Laurie Beechman Theatre from November 13-15! In this show Joel recounts his time spent on the reality TV show "I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!" (opposite Maureen "Marcia Brady" McCormick), Hollywood (where he was invited to a gay celebrity orgy), and, of course, across Australia.
Call Answered: I first came to know about Bob Stillman when he starred in "Grey Gardens," with two-time Tony Award winner Christine Ebersole. Kacie Sheik came onto my radar when she was starring in Broadway's "Hair." Now, I get to talk to both these stars about their new show "Songbird," which also stars Tony Nominee Kate Baldwin! "Songbird" is a show about dreams, ambition, love, and heartbreak as a fading country star coming home to Nashville to help the son she abandoned launch his own music career. "Songbird" plays at 59E59 Theaters through the extended date of December 6!

Call Answered: When I was growing up, there was no YouTube, Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for artists to promote themselves. Today, the way to discover music is vastly different. Attesting to that is the way I discovered singer/songwriter Mathieu Blue. His Facebook posting promoting his upcoming concert at The Metropolitan Room in NYC on October 26 came into my Facebook feed. What I discovered through this interview, is what I thought after listening to his music, there is a really talented, insightful, and passionate guy behind those good looks! Call Answered: Mary Dimino, author of "Scared Skinny," has a new solo show, "Big Dummy" about Mary's relationship with her father, whom she describes as a simple man. As someone who grew up with a learning disability, I already feel a connection to this show! "Big Dummy," is playing a special encore performance in the United Solo Festival on Thursday, October 22 at 9pm at Theatre Row and at The 13th Street Repertory Theatre December 2, 2015-January 30, 2016!
Call Answered: Halloween is one of my favorite holidays of all time! If I'm not going out, I love curling up on the couch watching some of my favorite Halloween-themed shows. I also love telling and hear ghost stories. The theatre is rich in ghost stories which is why I was so excited to get to do this special interview with two of my fellow theatre reporters: Steve Schonberg (Center on the Aisle) and Laura Heywood (BroadwayGirlNYC). Call Answered: I have always been a big fan of The Peanuts gang from reading the comic strip to my annual viewings of "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving," "A Charlie Brown Christmas," and "A Charlie Brown Valentine." When I was asked to interview rising actress Rebecca Bloom about starring, as "Marcie," in "The Peanuts Movie," I got out my popcorn and strung up my Christmas Tree as Rebecca and I chatted about this new venture! "The Peanuts Movie" will be released in theaters on November 6!

Call Answered: I first met Steven Fales almost 10 years ago when his show "Confessions of a Mormon Boy" made it's NYC Off-Broadway premiere. To this day, I still remember that show. When I found out that his new show, "Cult Model," was going to be at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, I knew I had to find out more. In true cult fashion, I re-programmed my brain as Steven and I sat down for this candid conversation! "Cult Model" will play October 15, 16, 22, and 23!

She skated across Broadway in "Xanadu," ran away with Aaron Tveit in "Catch Me If You Can," and got political in "The Best Man" and "Clinton The Musical." Now it's great to catch up with Kerry as she gets ready for her Feinstein's/54 Below solo debut October 15, 16, and 21, alongside her longtime friend Seth Rudetsky on piano! Call Answered: The first time I saw Sierra Boggess perform in a Broadway show was when she starred opposite Tyne Daly in "Master Class." The second time I saw her perform was, again, opposite Tyne Daly in "It Shoulda Been You." Hmm...maybe I only see Sierra Boggess perform when she is opposite Tyne Daly..hehe. Now to be given the opportunity to speak with Sierra about performing with The New York Pops, one of the greatest orchestras in the country, alongside their fearless leader, Steven Reineke, paying tribute to musical theatre legends Rodgers and Hammerstein, is a true honor! The New York Pops, "My Favorite Things: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein" will take place this Friday, October 9 at 8pm at Carnegie Hall!
Call Answered: I love soap operas! I was a big "All My Children" fan, but would watch the others from time to time as well! When it was suggested I interview "One Life to Live's" January LaVoy who is starring as one of history's most recognized vampire slayer's "Van Helsing," in Three Day Hangover's production of Steven Dietz's "Dracula," I took my stake and went head to head with her! "Dracula" will be playing through October 17 at McAlpin Hall at The West Park Presbyterian Church on 86th and Amsterdam.
Call Answered: I have interviewed Ben Rimalower several times for "Call Me Adam." Ben loves my interviews so much that he often has referred people to me to interview. Rob Townsend is one of those people. A rising singer, Rob recently released his fun, catchy single "Skinny Boys." After listening to this song, I thought, Rob and I should talk, so we did! We had a great time discussing the making of Rob's debut EP "Adelphi" as well as what it takes to put an album together! Rob will be performing at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City on October 29 to celebrate the release of "Adelphi."

After seeing her this past summer in Adam Overett's "Popesical: A Papal Musical," I knew now was the time for us to do an interview together! Call Misdialed: I must have dialed the wrong number originally as I just found some lost footage from my interview with two-time Emmy nominee Anna Chlumsky as we discussed her starring on the HBO Emmy Award winning series "Veep" from when Anna was starring on Broadway in "Living for Love!" So glad to have the right number now!

When Full Spectrum Theatre Company's Suzie Cho (Artistic Director) and Ashley Ford (Associate Artistic Director) reached out to me about doing a new interview with Maria about directing the David Lindsay-Abaire's Pulitzer Prize winning play the "Rabbit Hole," I treaded into the darkness to get the inside scoop on this production which will be presented from October 7-24 at The Davenport Theatre in NYC!
